Fallen (Joshua tree) bones

Gotta love hiking in Joshua Tree National forest, even though "forest" is an odd word to describe a desert landscape. Wish it wasn't illegal to take anything out of the forest (but I never do, of course). The unusual plant life here has made me pay more attention to the tiny details of each organism. For anything to be able to survive the intense heat and flourish, is really remarkable. On this particular hike, we also saw a herd of desert bighorn sheep gathered at a small, seasonal watering hole.
